Shalom Ivrit
Are you a teacher with minimal Hebrew background, interested in teaching Hebrew Through Movement? We are excited to share "HTM's Shalom Ivrit" with you. Each relatively short Hebrew lesson introduces vocabulary and grammatical patterns using an approach similar to that of Hebrew Through Movement. You will hear Hebrew, match vocabulary with pictures and actions, learn kinesthetically, and be encouraged to practice giving commands aloud. The order of the sessions follows that of HTM's Foundational Units.
The program was created with JiTap, which normally can be accessed via its app or the internet/website. However, the version that I used to create the learning can be used ONLY ON THE WEB. Do not download the JiTap app to work with these HTM learning sessions.
Two requests:
1) This program was designed for teens and adults who need to relatively quickly learn HTM vocabulary. While we honored tried-and-true language learning principles, there are times when some of our learning decisions were influenced by the available technology or our access to pictures and videos. Please do not share HTM's Shalom Ivrit with your young learners - whether in-person or virtually, they should be running, jumping, pointing in a social setting, not clicking answers on a computer screen. Thanks.
2) We'd love your feedback! Feel free to send a short (or long) email to Nachama Skolnik Moskowitz at [email protected]. The program is experimental and, as you can see, is still being developed. Let us know what works for you and what does not!
Thanks!
