Holiday Unit, Purim
Below are links to the instructions, vocabulary lists and sample scripts for Hebrew Through Movement Holiday Unit: Purim. Additionally, there are flashcards of the vocabulary words found in this holiday unit for students who are ready for visual cues, instead of just verbal ones; these will generally be used in later years of study with Hebrew Through Movement, not the first or second one.
Teachers, both novice and experienced, will find of interest the video of Purim being taught. As with all the videos offered on this site, it is offered neither as an exemplar, nor as the only way to teach the lesson. Rather, it is an example of a real teacher, teaching real students. This page also includes a video of the vocabulary introduced in the Purim unit, with pronunciation and translation. The video was posted to help parents hear and better understand the language that their children are bringing home! Feel free to share the link with them. There is also a video with other helpful information for the teacher. Happy teaching! |
