Holiday Unit, Sukkot

On this page you will find:
  • A copy of the Sukkot lesson guide from the most recent edition of the curriculum
  • Sukkot picture cards that you may download and print
  • A video with all the vocabulary pronounced and translated (look below for the yellow screenshot). The video was posted to help parents hear and better understand the language that their children are bringing home! Feel free to share the link with them.  
  • Word cards. Note that these are generally used in later years of Hebrew Through Movement study when children are working on Print Literacy through HTM.

Sukkot Picture Cards

These photos illustrate HTM Sukkot vocabulary from the most recent edition of the curriculum guide. Check to see which photos match the Option you are teaching then print those one-per-page, ideally in color. If you are teaching virtually,  send your children printed copies of these photos, 2 or 4 per page. While teaching you can ask them to "lift up" (and show you)  the picture of whatever word you have said.

There is an activity in Option 1 of the Sukkot unit where you show learners pictures of sukkot AND other kinds of shelters (tent, teepee, etc). Teach the word "sukkah" to students and then show these cards asking, "סוכה - כן או לא" (is this a sukkah? Yes or no?).  More info is in the curriculum guide.
